Haiku is an archetypal poetry format. Poetry tells a complete story with a minimum number of words. Every word packing maximum meaning.
If a word can be removed and the poem falls….put the word back.
If a word can be removed and the poem doesn’t fall….cut the word.
This philosophy is the foundation of my poetry. The foundation of all my writing.
This quest for perfect words often leads merrily down a reductor ad absurdum path of slashed words. Often leading back to blank pages. Much to the joy of many literary critics.
‘The best thing Mr Green has written is an untouched page.’
These Haiku are generally of the 5/7/5 syllable format.
They are place holders.
They may become longer pieces.
